Tuesday, August 14, 2007 - Santa Clara, CA

Senator Barbara Boxer visited Sun Microsystems to present the company with her Conservation Champion award. Sun, the first technology company to receive the award, hosted the Senator at the Santa Clara, California campus. Greg Papadopoulos, CTO and EVP of R&D, met with the Senator and provided a sneak peak tour of one of the new green datacenters. Following the tour of the datacenter, Senator Boxer addressed a packed room of Sun employees and press, praising the company for their conservation efforts and fighting global warming, stating, "this type of conservation can be and needs to be copied across the country." Greg accepted the Conservation Champion award on behalf of the company and its global employees.
