June 13th-15th, 2007 Sun Microsystems, Google and Yahoo! hosted the The Paley Center for Media's International Council Meeting, held in association with the Media and Entertainment and IT/TC Governors of the World Economic Forum. The event brought together approximately 100 senior executives from across the world's leading media, entertainment, and technology companies to discuss convergence and the new platforms that are shaping the future of the industry. At The Paley Center for Media's gala opening dinner event, guest speakers included Jonathan Schwartz from Sun, Eric Schmidt from Google and Terry Semel from Yahoo!, along with California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Paley Center for Media Chairman Frank Bennack hosted the dinner along with President and CEO Pat Mitchell. Greg Papadopoulos panel (June 15, Sun campus) Greg Papadopoulos, CTO and EVP of R&D, led the What’s Next? session at the Paley Center for Media International Council Meeting. Greg was joined by industry experts, including Vinton Cerf of Google, Bradley Horowitz of Yahoo!, Daniel Scheinman of Cisco Media Solutions Group, and Ginsu Yoon of Linden Labs. The group discussed the next killer application and explored the innovative culture of Silicon Valley and how new technologies are nurtured and developed into new business ecosystems.
