Where do I get Sun photography?
Visit the Sun Photo Library at photos.sun.com for Sun product photography and employee portraits.

General marketing photography may be purchased from any of the stock photography houses, such as gettyimages.com, veer.com, or comstock.com. Be sure to follow the Sun Brand Guidelines for Photography when choosing your images.

Where can I get CMYK versions of photos?
The Sun Photo Library only distributes RGB photos as they view better on screen and their file sizes are smaller. If you are going to use a photo in a commercial application, you'll need to convert to CMYK using image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop.

Can I get transparencies, slides, and prints of photos?
The Sun Photo Library doesn't distribute transparencies, slide or prints-only digital files are available. Most product photos on the Sun Photo Library were taken during the prototype phase and have been digitally manipulated due to changes before the product launch, making the photo hard copies obsolete.

Why are Sun employee portraits photographed digitally?
After photographing a Sun employee using a digital medium, the selected image is delivered to the Sun Photo Library staff for posting. The benefits of the digital process are:
  • Sun saves 30 percent in studio cost - using a digital medium eliminates the need for hard copy photos and scanning for printing.
  • Reduced turn around time - there's about a 48-hour turnaround from photo shoot to Sun Photo Library posting.
  • Reduced approval time - the employee being photographed can view and approve photos in the studio.
